Kardashian Slave Labor Allegations of the Day: And in case you still had any shred of affinity for the Kardashian Klan after that last post, this should take care of that.
A human rights group is reportedly investigating claims that the Kardashians’ various fashion lines are manufactured in a Chinese factory where employees are subjected to “slave labor” conditions.
According to the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights, the workers are forced to produce clothing for K-Dash, the Kris Jenner Kollection, and ShoeDazzle in a hot, squalid factory that reeks of sewage for up to 84 hours a week.
For their trouble, these workers earn all of $1 an hour. Meanwhile, the Kardashians pull in an estimated $65 million a year.
Responding to these claims, Kris Jenner told TMZ that, as far as she knows, “the factories that are used to manufacture the Kardashian clothing and shoes have nothing terrible going on at all and the factories are very well policed and meet factory standards.”
Jenner admits she has never actually visited any of these factories.
